Sunflower

I had to share this picture I took this morning. I moved into my new home last April, had a worn out gazebo torn down and wonder of wonders, someone had dropped a sunflower seed throught the old floor.

Well somehow it survived the winter and sprouted. I recognized the little plant and let it grow.
The flower is so bent over, I hope it doesn't break!
The seed head is 8 inches across. The seeds are not ripe yet.

There is a little self-made bird bath from the rain.
I'm just going to leave it to nature and see what happens!

  1. took a while to get your comment block to come up ... glad I waited

That sunshine is a beauty and the birdbath is too sweet and wonderful ... it's just perfect!
Wait until the birdies find it!
