Shabby Chic Photo Book

I just love making these shabby chic books and things using fabric and lace!  I use my glue gun and sometimes a little stitch or two.  This particular book is approximately 6" by 6" (closed).  I've used a combination of old and new materials.

The front: you can't really see but there is a piece of lace with velvet, moss coloured, ribbon down the spine; there's an elastic/organza closure that comes from the back forward, over the button; the crochet flowers on the front are made by me.

Below:  The lace on top and bottom form pockets and can be used to hold your photos in place.
The pages of this book are made from lovely, old, table napkins that I picked up at the Lions' garage sale the other weekend :)

Below:  I cut a doily in half and glued it over these center pages, thus creating a pocket on each side. I glued some pearls and 'leaf' ribbon onto the doily.

In the photo below, the wide lace can hold more photos :)
This gorgeous lace was on a long table runner and I bought it specifically to cut the lace off for my projects. It was $15 and I have almost 12 yards of 4" awesomeness!

The back has the same button as the front.  The elastic/organza ribbon is glued on to this side.  The pretty lace that is at the top and bottom is from Walmart and I think I may have to buy some more.

A Little Girls Album

I believe my 'Dress'  album is finished.   This is a shaped book from Bo Bunny, 10" long,  called Sweet Tooth and comes with the pages already covered.  I inked all the edges, and added chipboard stickers that went with the set.  I added ribbons, buttons, lace, sparkles, pearls and hardware.

Bo Bunny Puzzle Book

Hi Everyone :)  I pulled another project from the cupboard!

This lovely puzzle book comes with the pieces covered.  I inked all the edges with SU ink and added other goodies plus a large ring with lace and fibre.  Although I made this into a book, you can also fit the pieces together. Each piece is about 4.5 " by 5".

I added a lot of photos to show all the puzzle pages, so I won't take up your time with a lot of talk :)

Thanks for coming to look, have a great week :)

FRIEND Word Book

Quite a while back I bought several word books and seeing as I'm trying to finish old projects, I picked this one to do this week!

I love this CTMH paper and glad I tucked it away with the book.  I tried not to get carried away  because you really can with albums!

I just cut and taped as well glued the paper on to the chipboard pages.  All page edges are inked with Black Soot distress ink.   Below, the black decorative strip on the right side page is like a belly band to tuck photos under.

Below is a library pocket (left) that I added paper to, plus two tags, so lots of room to write or add a couple of photos.

On the right had side, it's hard to see, but there is an acetate pocket to which I added some cut-out flowers and a label.   I edged it with a black Copic pen so it was easier to see  :)

The butterfly is lace that I cut to shape.  The right hand page has that decorative strip along the bottom to tuck photos into.

Below: The right side has a little frame to add a small photo.  And the last page has some pockets and tags for more journaling and photos. This last page is the chipboard that comes with the book, that's not part of the lettering, I shaped the end and covered it too for an extra page.

Long post :) thanks for coming to look, hope you are all having a great week!

Timepiece Mini Album from Bo Bunny

Well, I do believe this album is done  :)   But, you never know, when you have something 'done', sometimes you go back and tweak it a bit--so we'll see.

I didn't go heavy on pockets and tags or embellishments on the inside, but I LOVE the front, I think I got the feminine look I was going for  :)

Everything is edged with Distress ink, vintage photo.  The flowers are from I Am Roses and I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.  The one white flower with the pearl is one that I made and put on a gloober.  The pearl necklace on the front used to belong to Ina, one of our stamping pals who passed away a short time ago, I thought it suited the vintage look of this album.

I love making my own albums where I'm the one picking the paper, but having this one from Bo Bunny sure made it easy--paper is on the chipboard so all you do is ink the edges and decorate!

I used a few of the chipboard pieces and stickers. Love the big scrolls.

The two pages below have a pocket and the one has a pull-out tag.

Thanks for coming to look, please check out my Facebook and Pinterest page for more of my paper crafting--you'll find the links over to the left, on the sidebar :)

Have a great day!

Graphic 45 Bird Song Mini Album

Here is my mini album using Graphic 45 Bird Song paper.   I loved making this album, the paper is so gorgeous!

The front tag holds the book closed, but I added a magnet just so when the book gets full, it has extra holding support.

The inside has pockets and places to add photos and journaling.

There's lots of room in this little 4 1/2" x 6" album.

Thanks for coming to have a look.  I followed a you tube video by Dawns Inspirations on a layered book binding method--works wonderful. Plus, she has a video to show the added hinged piece shown in the above photo. Check out ALL her videos--they're great!

Wallet Style Mini Album

Thanks to Janet for sharing :)

I made mine with Stampin Up cardstock (the sturdiest of all I believe) and Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper.

You do your basic pattern and really, you can make it any size you want--closed, mine is 7" x 4".  I used sookwang tape and crystal effects for adhesives. I was going to add some sparkly gems but they could damage photos when closed--however, I may put some on the front--a little sparkle is good.

You can decorate how you like but remember, you want to be able to close it :)  Mine is held closed with a magnet hidden under the printed paper.

There are actually 3 hidden places where you could slide a note into  :)  you can't see them and I'm not telling!

I had fun making this, thanks again Janet  :)

Copic Colour Book

I found this lovely site one day while surfing, Copic Munkies. Rachel, the owner of this blog graciously shared her pages for this awesome little book for keeping track of your copic colours, combinations, hair colours, etc.

I've cut and modge podged a butterfly, from a magazine, onto the front cover--nothing on the back yet...but probably will be at some point. The pages inside are all Xpress It blending paper, plus I added 3 acrylic pages that pull out to put behind the pages when adding colours. The card stock is SU! I made a little pocket on the inside cover, just to tuck any little scrap into :)

Thanks for coming by today and please stop over at the Copic Munkies blog and have a look around 

Heart Journal Page for March

I've struggled a bit with my March page for the Heart Journal....this is how it started, I loved the papers I found in magazines (mostly Oprah).

Got it to this point, still loving what I did....but....I wasn't thinking and missed the step of using water to wipe a bit of acrylic paint away and I put clear gloss on it.
Didn't like it at all any more  :(
Peeled it off and started anew!  I don't usually trash something, but I was so ticked about what I'd done.....
However, my only regret now was that I didn't copy the words to that poem!

Below is the new page, on the right.  January (front cover) and February-in the middle.

Close up of the March page.  I used a doily stamp in the top right, a heart stamp with cascading marks, and a word stamp with the letter L... for love  :)  They are a bit hard to see, but really pretty irl.

I'm hoping to follow along with the journal throughout the year.  You can join in and start yours by following instructions here:    http://artjournal2012.blogspot.ca/

Hope you're having a great weekend  :)  it's quite sunny in the Cariboo this morning!
