Sketch Challenge Card

Finally got my card done for Graphicat's Sketch Challenge #4.

The cardstock and ink for sponging is Stampin Up!, dp is Creative Memories, flowers are Prima, and the string is from my kitchen---it is actually over 50 years old and still as strong as ever!

The colouring is done with Copics.  The cups and the sentiment on the outside are digis from
Carmen at Beyond The Fringe.  Check out her blog, she does awesome work.

Below is a close up of the cups which I coated with Crystal Effects from Stampin Up!

Then, a close up of the flowers.

Inside verse is a stamp from Hero Arts.

Thanks for popping by, hope you're having a great day!

Precious Friends.....are like Angels

I Love this digi image from Crafts and Me!  So I put it on my card for their Challenge--make something light, with Spring colours, something fluffy, airy  :)

Check out the Challenge details on their blog, check my sidebar--I can't seem to make it show up here!

I used my beloved Copics to colour the image and SU! inks--Cool Caribbean and So Saffron for sponging.  The flowers are prima, pearls and Top Note die are from SU!, the netting and lace is from my stash  :)   My Friend Bev gave me the swirls which I sponged with  SU! 'Cool Caribbean' ink as well.  I used the Grand Labels 23 from Spellbinders for the yellow and a QuicKutz die for my sentiment which I printed on the computer.  Inside says '...are like Angels, always there when you need them'

On the close up you'll see that I painted her wings with Smooch paint after I coloured with Copics.  The cute little Lamb and the clouds have flocking on them--soft and fluffy  :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather like we are getting these past few days--gotta love that sunshine:)

Thanks for stopping by....

Wedding Card

This black and white wedding card turned out quite different that it started!
How does that happen  :)

Card stock is SU! and I 'think' the designer paper is too, or...it could be CM.  SU! ink for sponging edges and the sentiment I typed on the computer is from a list I found on SplitCoast.

And...a glimpse of the inside

Thanks for coming to look.

Hope you are having a lovely day, it's blue skies and sunshine here   :)

Heart Journal Page for March

I've struggled a bit with my March page for the Heart Journal....this is how it started, I loved the papers I found in magazines (mostly Oprah).

Got it to this point, still loving what I did....but....I wasn't thinking and missed the step of using water to wipe a bit of acrylic paint away and I put clear gloss on it.
Didn't like it at all any more  :(
Peeled it off and started anew!  I don't usually trash something, but I was so ticked about what I'd done.....
However, my only regret now was that I didn't copy the words to that poem!

Below is the new page, on the right.  January (front cover) and February-in the middle.

Close up of the March page.  I used a doily stamp in the top right, a heart stamp with cascading marks, and a word stamp with the letter L... for love  :)  They are a bit hard to see, but really pretty irl.

I'm hoping to follow along with the journal throughout the year.  You can join in and start yours by following instructions here:    http://artjournal2012.blogspot.ca/

Hope you're having a great weekend  :)  it's quite sunny in the Cariboo this morning!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Here is the card my Grandson River, who is 7, made for me and his Mom and Dad, when he came to visit  :)  He used bits and pieces from my stash to make this card.

The inside, where he collaged, then put acrylic over all, then added his coloured pictures that also had acrylic over them.

Here is a close up of the right hand side.

River also made a Leprechaun catcher by himself.  He painted the ends and did a collage on the sides and top from bits of green pages from magazines.

If you look to the top of the box, there are two sacks of chocolate gold coins sitting on the little table.  Just looking under the box you can see the rocks River and his sister Eve painted like gold, to attract the Leprechaun.

When I went outside early this morning (because I thought I heard a sound) I took a picture of the box.  But when we looked at the picture, we saw the goodies on the table.  Now, the Leprechaun must have been very close because he brought the chocolate but the gold was still there.  When the kids arrived the goodies were under the box and the gold was gone!!

We saw Leprechaun foot prints in the snow in the driveway.

Thanks for coming to visit, hope you enjoyed reading about our fun morning!

Green Challenge

Green as in the colour  :) is what they want to see over at Creative Accents Challenge blog.   And below is the gorgeous incentive photo!

So I dug into my stash of stamped and started bits that I'm trying to 'Accomplish' something with and found this little fairy that I must have coloured some time ago!  I've actually got my stash down to a small drawer  :)

The background is a page from a magazine, modge podged, painted with gesso, colour blocked with bits of ripped paper and sponged with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress inks and stamped with Inkadinkado flourishes, then adhered to black cardstock.  All the cardstock is SU!  Embellishments are from my stash  :)   This card is 5" x 5 1/2".

Also, I finally finished another mini, pocket book.  Perfect for the little dancer in your life  :)
The Designer paper, lined black cardstock for the tags and the sticker accents are all Creative Memories.

A peek inside.  The 'Love' heart is one that I made from femo, stamped, sponged the edges and added a wee pink gem--all the bling is from my stash.  Lots of pretties in this little book!

The back.  Lots of pretty ribbon and pink tulle on the Bind-It-All binding and the five tags that fit into the pockets .

Thanks for coming by and please be sure to leave a comment so I can come to your blog and say hello as well--I love to see what everyone is making  :)

Road Trip, a Project and a Card

Well, I'm back from another little trip to Chetwynd and thought I'd share a couple of pics with you and at the end....there's always a card  :)

Heading toward the Pine Pass.

In the Pass, lots of snow, but the roads were just slushy.

Getting very close to Chetwynd, much nicer up there  :)
Hardly any snow and even tho we did get a couple of inches, it was quite nice most of the time.  I had a great time with the two families!

Forgot to take pics of this little Valentines project that I made for the kids, so did it while there.
I used the heart pattern from my Heart Journal, 'podged' it, put paper on it, edged in acrylic, dry embossed some metal tape and added alcohol inks. The little initial square is a pocket, the letter is on a piece of transparency, the little window frame is sprayed with gimmer mist and finally I added the chain to hang it on the door handle.

Also, I'm back to teaching classes and here is one of the cards we are making.  I love something that is a bit out of the ordinary.  This card is 5" x 6".

It folds flat for mailing.  I made the little fimo squares.

A lovely little tag for the pocket.

And heaven forbid I throw anything away.  I just had to save the cute little cut-outs, lol.

Have a great weekend and please come back for a visit another day  :)
