Challenge Card, Paper Roses and More

There is a new challenge over at the Graphicat Sketch's blog. Here is my entry for that, thanks to Barb (I believe)for the stamp and embossing powder. I used distress ink pads and Brushsticks to colour :)

Here is a close-up to show the colour in the faux silk technique that I used. The background piece with the music sheet tissue paper is sprayed with two Glimmer Mists, the gold really puts a shine on it.

And....here is the sketch.

Also, I tried making a couple of roses from the Stampin Up! ornament punch. You punch out about 25 or so, ink them up, curl the edges, and glue them down. There are quite a few youtube videos on making these.

Lots to show you today, here's a watercolour poppy--Stampin Up! stamp and watercolour crayons....

...and my Silly Bird (Stamps Happen)--coloured with Copics--birthday card for a friend...

I have the start of a book here...

Thanks for coming to look :) The family is moved into their new house, so I'm going to try getting this book finished before the end of the month when more family comes to visit :) I love summer!

Another Page in the Arch Book

Here is the second page in the Arch Book.
Photo of my Parents and my Brother and Me.
The lace is actually off an old slip of Moms (now I know why I kept it!) and the buttons are from her button box.  It's hard to see, but I stamped and clear embossed a design on the page, and then rubbed with distress ink.  I'm thinking of using a faux stitch around the page, but not sure yet  :)

And, a look at the beginning of page 3!  Layers of paper.  Check my side bar for Ink Stains blog if you would like to follow along with this project.

And gosh knows, I can't just do one thing at a time  :)
Here is a sneak peak at a new book I'm making!
Who can resist Graphis 45's 'Once Upon a Springtime'!
Well, I couldn't throw away the covers either. I cut and glued them to chipboard,
then cut some of the papers from the small paper pad
and glued them to chipboard for 5 inside pages.
The book is 8 x 3 1/8 inches and I used the bind-it-all to hold it all together.
It looks large but the book is fairly thick.
It's hard to see, but there are stickles on parts of the page.

Here's a close up of the dragonfly, I used the same technique as the butterfly and wings.
The wingspan is about 2 1/8 inches.

I'm working on the inside pages, so please come back in a few days to see more  :)

Making more flowers!
Here are the wet and wrinkled bits.

And here they are opened up.

Cooking and Crafting, still Snowing

Well, as in many parts of the country, it is still snowing here. But, I can keep busy!

Yesterday was much the same so I did more crafting and cooking :)

I love crepes!

For dinner, I stacked them with a lasagne-type meat sauce--Crepes Italiano!

I only made a small stack--saving some for breakfast :)

I used scraps to punch out smaller flowers.

Eliminating one mess! The stack of stuff on the top right corner is my 'to deal with pile'!

One is an arylic book I was starting a while back :)

Just put up shelves. This wall will stay the same. Getting it together---one wall at a time :)

We'll see what developes over the weekend--I'll share with you on Monday :)

Have a great weekend Everyone :)

Tea on Tuesday

Peaches and paper Flowers :)

A quiet cup of tea in the sunshine of my livingroom. This is the same tea as last week :)

I bought a box of peaches! Now I need to do something with them, but of course I'll keep a few to eat.

Peaches cut in half ready to freeze. I have never done this before, so I hope it works!

These ones are going to be canned, here they are all washed and I sit with my tea :)

Yesterday was gray and rainy, so I decided to make some paper flowers. On my side bar is a blog called Such a Pretty Mess---I love the work she does and she shows how to make these.

I used Stampin Up cardstock and sprayed them with glimmer mist. Sorry it is a bit blurry---a photographer I am not.

I have a bunch more done in other colours, but it is a bit time consuming, so maybe tomorrow :)

Join us for tea at Kimmies, check my sidebar for Artinredwagons :)
