Tea on Monday

Posting my tea-time on Monday because I'm out most of the day tomorrow  :)

I finally got back home from my trip up north!  It started out a lovely drive to be at my Grandson's 7th birthday.  However, after arriving, down came the rain---for three solid days and quite heavy!  There was some flooding in the small town of Chetwynd and the highway south of it in quite a few places.  Train tracks were destroyed as well.

Now, I know, this really doesn't compare to what some other places on the map are putting up with, and I'm very grateful I wasn't travelling that day!
Anyway, instead of a 5 hour trip, it became a 13 1/2 hour trip to go the long way around and I waited a few extra days so that I had company to travel with.  The drive through Jasper is always beautiful and we saw lots of wildlife.

In the end, I had a great stay with my kids and grandkids  :)  but, it's always good to be home.

Tea drinker or not, be sure to check out what everyone is up to at http://artinredwagons.blogspot.com/

  1. Amazing the damage too much water can do!! Only a grandchild at teh end of a trip cold make it worth 13 1/2 hours!!!LOL

  2. Wow, water is powerful isn't it. I have been in floods when I was younger. Now we are in a bad drought. Could use any amount of rain down here in South Texas. Be careful up there on the roads. Happy tea day.

  3. talk about being in the right place at the right time...glad you are safe Nancy

there is so much extreme weather everywhere it seems...the mudslides look really scarey...what a trip you had!

they don't call it "home sweet home" for nothing heehee!

  4. I see you didn't post this week, but just realized I didn't visit last week. How rude of me. I hope all is well, especially after that really powerful mudslide. Have a great tea Tuesday even though you are probably off enjoying life at the moment.

  5. Now how did I miss your post last week!?!?! It sounds like an amazing trip though! My husband and I honeymooned in Jasper years ago ... And I remember quite heavy rain through Revelstoke and the Yoho Provincial Park. All that rain is what makes it such pretty country!!

    Happy Tuesday! Kimmie

  6. O my gosh! well I am glad you had a good time with your family but I am also glad you are home safe and sound! Those are some amazing photographs.

  7. Hi there Nancy, happy Tea Tuesday to you. Wow you had quite an adventure! The photos are amazing but a little scary, I am glad you got there (eventually ) and back safely. No matter what the weather conditions we love our children and love being with them so we literally will go to the end of the earth for them lol. Glad you had a great time.

  8. Hi Nancy! So glad you made it home safe and sound! We seem to appreciate home more when we go away for awhile (at least I do!) Happy to hear you got to spend time with your family.
    Happy Tea Day!
